Scale Educational, Credentialing, and Workplace Testing.

In July 2018 the American Psychological Association (APA) released a statement
opposing the Trump administration's decision to eliminate guidelines that support
affirmative action in college admissions. In response, the NCME Board of Directors
issued the following statement:

NCME acknowledges the complexities of the college admissions process and believes colleges
should not be restricted with respect to the variables they use to make admissions decisions.
Therefore, we stand in agreement with APA on this issue, and encourage colleges to use the
academic and demographic information they believe is most valuable in achieving their
admissions goals.

NCME periodically releases statements and/or position papers focused on pressing topics
in educational measurement research and practice. At present, NCME has published four
such papers, which you can view via the buttons on the right.

  1. Test Security for Large Scale Educational, Credentialing, and Workplace Testing
  2. Theories of Action for Testing Programs
  3. Student Participation in State Assessment
  4. K-12 Classroom Assessment
  5. Use of College Admissions Test Scores as Academic Indicators in State Accountability Systems
