Standards Study Group

Standards Study Group

The NCME Graduate Student Issues Committee (GSIC) was delighted to announce the formation of a study group focused on the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing, commonly known as the Standards.

As a new version of the Standards began its drafting process, our community of graduate students actively engaged in this significant endeavor. The study group reviewed each chapter of the current Standards, fostering insightful dialogue about their strengths and limitations. These discussions were instrumental in generating ideas for enhancing the upcoming version of the Standards.

Our approach involved a two-week cycle per chapter, with one week dedicated to discussions among graduate students and the following week to consultations with experts on the relevant chapter topic. This comprehensive review culminated in the creation of a statement by the graduate students, reflecting our collective insights and recommendations for the new version of the Standards.

Although a separate initiative, this statement was greatly enriched by the thoughts and contributions from the study group sessions. We encourage all interested students to review the discussions and insights shared during this process, accessible through our public links. This will offer a valuable perspective on the graduate students' involvement and impact on the evolution of the Standards.
