Standards Study Group

Standards Study Group

The NCME Graduate Student Issues committee (GSIC) is pleased to inform our community of graduate students the creation of a study group about the Standards for Educational and Psychological testing (better known as the Standards).

A new version of the Standards is starting its writing process soon, and as Graduate Students we can and need to have a voice in this process. In the study group we will review the chapters of the current version of the Standards and initiate a conversation about its strengths and limitations, discussing ideas on how the new version of the Standards can improve.

We foresee this activity group spending two weeks per chapter, having one week of discussion among Graduate students and one week of discussion with an expert on the topic of the chapter. At the end of this cycle, we plan to start a participative process and write a statement as Graduate Students about the new version of the Standards.

This statement will have a call as a separate activity, however the ideas shared and constructed during the study group will serve as a resource to the discussions in the statement instance.
